Professional Experience

Boon Tiong is a partner of Assurance and Advisory. He has more than 13 years of public accounting experience in assurance advisory and financial reporting with major accounting firms and commercial firms.

Boon Tiong began his career with a local medium public accounting firm in Malaysia upon completion of the professional examinations with Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom (ACCA) in 1999.

In 2000, Boon Tiong joined Ernst & Young Malaysia (EY), one of the big four accounting firms, as audit assistant. In 2003, he left EY when he was audit senior and joined a commercial firm as Group Finance Manager where he was primarily responsible for the group's accounting & financial operations and was a key member to the group's corporate exercises. In 2005, Boon Tiong joined Ernst & Young Singapore as audit senior and became audit manager in 2007. Thereafter, he joined H.T.Khoo & Associates PAC which merged with PKF-CAP LLP in 2012.

During his tenure with the audit firms, Boon Tiong was involved in the audit assignments for various clients consist of multi-national corporations, private and public listed companies which are involved in a wide variety of industrial and commercial business, such as manufacturing, trading and distribution, electronics, etc. Boon Tiong was also managed a sizeable audit of financial services clients in the asset management, brokerage and financial institutions industry including private equity fund, hedge fund, commodities brokers, fund management company, etc.

Boon Tiong is a practicing member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Singapore (ISCA) and also a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom (FCCA). He also passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program. He was a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
